Summit Metro Parks seeks amateur photos and children’s artwork for exhibits

Summit Metro Parks is seeking entries for its amateur photography and children’s art exhibits.

From September 1 to November 18, visitors can submit entries for the 23rd Amateur Photography Exhibition, and from September 1 to 30, children aged 6 to 17 can submit entries for the first Children’s Art Exhibition. Both exhibits will be presented in the FA Seiberling Nature Realm and virtually.

For the Amateur Photography Exhibit, a limit of two printed photographs will be accepted per entrant, and all images must be taken in areas managed by Summit Metro Parks. With each entry, include your name, address, phone number, email, where the image was taken, and a title for the image. Entries must not be matted, framed, or include watermarks, and must be 5″x7″, 8″x10″ or 11″x14″ and printed on photo paper. Photographs will not be returned.

For the children’s art exhibit, the theme is pollinators. A limit of one entry will be accepted per child, and all entries must be two-dimensional and 5″x7″, 8″x10″ or 11″x14″. All media is acceptable, as long as it follows the guidelines. With each entry, include your name, address, phone number and email. Entries should not be matted or framed. The works will be returned.

For both competitions, visitors can drop off their submissions at Nature Realm (1828 Smith Road, Akron) or mail them to 975 Treaty Line Road, Akron, OH 44313, with Attn: Amateur Photography Exhibit or Attn: Kids’ Art Exhibit . Attach a completed registration form, which can be downloaded at Summitmetroparks.org/ProgramsAndEvents.aspx.
