‘Scenes of Epworth’, other July exhibitions, on display at LACA | Community

The Ludington Area Center for the Arts will hold a public artist reception for its three July exhibitions from 5-8 p.m. Friday.

“Scenes of Epworth” features over 70 original works of art by various artists, displayed in the main gallery of the arts centre. Among the artists participating in the exhibition are Laurel Prafke, JB “Breck” Speed, Susan Mayo-Griffin, Marion Riedl, Ellen Niemann, Janet Richmond, Linda Sandow, Melissa Thomas, Laura E. Carter, Barbara Forgue, Julie Strabel, James Merkel and more.

The LACA Performance Hall Lobby Gallery features artwork created by students of Justin David Gustafson’s Sunday Oil Painting class. During this ongoing weekly class, Gustafson teaches students a variety of techniques to use to create one-of-a-kind oil paintings.

Gustafson’s Oil Painting Course is open to all skill levels and those wishing to take the course can join at any time.

LACA’s outdoor group will be showcasing their work in the arts center‘s frameless gallery throughout July. The outdoor group meets at a different location around Mason County and surrounding areas.

All of the July exhibitions at LACA will be on display until July 30 and will feature many works of art for sale.

The Friday Artist Reception is free and will include food and drinks from Chef Berry Sherlock as well as an opportunity to meet many of the artists displaying artwork in the exhibits.

The Ludington Area Center for the Arts is located at 107 S. Harrison St. in downtown Ludington.
