Old Courthouse Galleries to Host Three New Exhibits by Local Artists – Kamloops News

Three new art exhibitions

Paintings, photographs and glass pieces by three local artists will be on display at the Old Kamloops Courthouse over the next few weeks.

According to the Kamloops Art Council, exhibitions by artists Shiela Dunn, Linda Scarfo and Jenna Cotter can be seen from April 22 through May 7.

KAC’s Main Gallery will house Playing with Glass, an exhibition of glass and crystal pieces by artist Pritchard Shiela Dunn.

The KAC said Dunn’s stained glass can also be seen year-round in the windows of the heritage St. Andrews Church in the square.

Linda Scarfo’s Inspirations and Insights, a collection of acrylic paintings, will be installed in KAC Hallway Gallery.

According to the KAC, Scarfo’s exhibit showcases the landscapes, animals and birds of British Columbia, with art maps and enlargements that will be available at local markets in the spring and summer.

Jenna Cotter’s acrylic painting and photography work will be exhibited in the KAC Vault Gallery. In a statement to KAC, Cotter, who lives near Sun Peaks, said she’s an outdoor enthusiast with a passion for putting the things she sees on canvas.

Cotter said she wanted her art to spread happiness, optimism, and good energy.

The Kamloops Art Council galleries, located in the Old Courthouse Cultural Centre, are open Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
