Exhibits Wanted for Tribute to the Arts at Brainerd – Pine and Lakes Echo Journal

BRAINERD — Submissions are open for the annual Crossing Arts Alliance exhibition, Salute to the Arts, which will be on view in the gallery from June 10 to July 2.

The deadline to submit a work is May 13.

Salute To The Arts is a juried exhibition that highlights new work by local artists from the past year. All mediums will be considered, including but not limited to painting, photography, drawing, printmaking, mixed media, fiber and sculpture.

This exhibit is open to residents of Minnesota. Artists may submit up to two pieces for consideration. Works must have been created after June 2021 and not previously exhibited with TCAA. Submission fees are free for Crossing Arts members and $5 per work for non-members. Submission fees are non-refundable.

The artworks will be judged by the Crossing Arts Gallery committee and its judge, Lori Forshee-Donnay, will select the first ($250), second ($100) and third ($50) cash prizes for the selected pieces . Each of the three winners will receive a free one-year subscription to Crossing Arts.

Forshee-Donnay is the Executive Director of Watermark Art Center in Bemidji, overseeing the organization’s arts programming and mission since 2006. She has a lifelong interest in the arts and understands the importance they play in people’s lives. . She has been a strong advocate for the visual arts in the region, helping to provide opportunities for artists and helping to build connections with community members and visitors to the area.
