We celebrate Earth Day with our annual recycled art exhibition, RECYCLE ME. Check out the ideas creatives have for reusing, upcycling, and upcycling materials. These can be not only nifty but functional.

Dawnette Renee’s exhibition, Revival continues in the main gallery. In the central gallery, the group exhibition of the Metropolitan Richmond Artists Association (MRAA) will be presented. Mike Bily brings nature – exotic and domestic – to the gallery with his exhibition, Outside Your Door.

The Mike Bily and MRAA exhibit continues through May 21, 2022. The Recycle Show and Dawnette Renee exhibit ends May 15. Admission is free and open to the public.


Revival by Dawnette Renee

Dawnette is a mixed media abstract artist from Northern Virginia. This exhibit is a combination of Abstract Impressionism and Expressionism, and the subject matter includes faces, cityscapes, and rural landscapes. Dawnette is inspired by nature, weathered barns, rusting train tracks and old buildings.

This exhibition will be held at the Jane Sandelin Gallery.


NEW ART NOW: from the Metro Richmond Artists Association

Founded by Theresa Pollack, teacher and accomplished artist, the Metropolitan Richmond Artists Association (MRAA) provides opportunities to promote and encourage the visual arts for artists in Richmond. For this exhibition, the members of MRAA propose a wide variety of subjects and supports. The exhibition will be in the central gallery.


Outside Your Door by Mike Bily

Mike Bily has traveled in South America, Central America and Africa as part of a scientific team and a freelance illustrator. His exhibition brings the viewer an appreciation of nature and the creatures that inhabit it, both domestic and exotic.

This exhibition will be in the Skylight Gallery.



This exhibition is central to all Art Works openings. This is a juried show with cash prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. Ryan Lauterio of Shockoe Artspace will be the juror of the exhibition. The fair is open to all artists and all mediums. The theme of this exhibition is recycling. Artwork is made up of found or recycled objects incorporated into a painting or sculpture. Any media is acceptable as long as recycled attributes are included. This exhibition will be in the Corner Gallery. The call for applications is from March 25 to April 12, 2022.
